Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Humility (DEIH)
At Greater Mental Health, our mission is to offer high-quality, affordable healthcare services, ensuring inclusivity regardless of race, age, ethnicity, gender, disability, veteran status, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation. Our staff actively participates in community events, such as Westchester Pride, advocating for equality and fostering diverse perspectives, and our DIALOGUE (Diversity, Inclusion, Awareness and Learning for Ongoing Unity and Equity) Committee serves to collaboratively address issues related to consumer and staff diversity.
Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Humility (DEIH) extends beyond the communities we serve. We’re multi-year recipients of the Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America. This distinction celebrates our efforts to cultivate a mentally healthy workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and respected, creating an environment that embraces all facets of an individual’s life. At Greater Mental Health, DEIH isn’t just a goal; it’s a cornerstone of our ethos, both in serving our communities and nurturing a workplace culture of acceptance and understanding.
Our DIALOGUE Committee addresses our agency’s need to reflect our diverse staff and consumers. Emphasizing diverse perspectives, it values understanding individuals’ history and culture to enhance service provision at Greater Mental Health. DIALOGUE committee members develop, implement, and monitor practices, procedures, and recommended policies that will enable the agency to become and remain culturally competent and serve the diverse populations of Westchester, Putnam, and Rockland counties.
