Our Cross Systems Unit (CSU) program is dedicated to implementing the Persons In Need of Supervision (PINS) diversion program, offering short-term, intensive, in-home, and family-centered interventions. Our overarching goal is to prevent out-of-home placements, equip families with problem-solving skills, and establish connections to a community-based system of care.

CSU’s commitment is to provide comprehensive support to families facing challenges. Our expert team conducts an initial assessment and then assists families through the PINS diversion program. This includes short-term, intensive, in-home interventions and family-centered strategies. Additionally, CSU offers referrals to other essential services based on the unique needs of each family. Services include: 

• Casework counseling
• Information and referral
• Family therapy
• Referrals to Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment

Within the CSU program, Greater Mental Health also offers the Safe Harbor Program and assessments, which provide community-based care coordination services for vulnerable youth.

These interventions are delivered by Greater Mental Health of New York care managers, ensuring a family-centric and strengths-based approach.

CSU may be right for a child if they are between the ages of 10 to 18 and at risk of family court involvement or out-of-home placements.
