Sterling Community Center

Overview

The Sterling Community Center (SCC) in White Plains offers a space for adults diagnosed with behavioral health conditions to find support and social activities. SCC offers classes to learn new things, volunteer opportunities, evening and weekend social activities, and personal support. At SCC, the focus is on helping everyone grow and achieve their own goals. In addition to a robust calendar of classes and activities, SCC is also home to a food pantry for participants and community members, a cafe serving nutritious meals, and specialized services that support recovery, such as Employment Services, our Peer Specialist Training, and our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. You can meet others who understand what you’re going through, make new friends, and be a part of a community.

The SCC Team

The SCC team, composed of many NYS-Certified Peer Specialists, offers collaborative, person-centered support. Drawing from their personal journeys of recovery from behavioral health conditions, our Peer Specialists bring unique insight and empathy to our services.

I’ve quit so many other therapeutic relationships and activities, but it’s different at Sterling. I trust everyone here, and I’m much more comfortable with the support I receive.
