Greater Mental Health Recognized Among City & State New York’s 2025 Top Mental Health Care Providers
TARRYTOWN, NY (December 2025)— Greater Mental Health of New York is proud to announce its recognition as one of City & State New York’s 2025 Top Mental Health Care Providers. An inaugural list recognizing nonprofits and medical organizations with innovative programs and standout services meeting New Yorkers’ mental health needs, the inclusion reflects Greater Mental Health’s impact and leadership in the field.
Since its founding in 1946, Greater Mental Health has been committed to providing accessible and affordable behavioral health care to individuals and families across Westchester and Rockland counties. Today, nearly 400 dedicated staff support programs serving people of all ages, providing thousands each year with life-changing and life-saving mental health services.
“To be recognized among the best providers in New York State is an honor for our entire team,” said Greater Mental Health’s CEO, Stacey Roberts, LCSW. “This award highlights our innovative mobile programs and our unwavering commitment to breaking down barriers to care. We’re grateful to our compassionate staff, committed partners, and supportive community for making this possible.”
Greater Mental Health was originally formed to support the needs of veterans returning home from World War II and young school children. Now, eight decades later, the nonprofit organization has grown to provide a comprehensive slate of more than 50 behavioral health and substance use treatment services tailored to people of all ages.
Today, an emphasis on mobile and community-based care models sets Greater Mental Health apart. More than 50 percent of services are delivered in homes, schools, and other community settings, reducing barriers to care that often prevent people from receiving consistent, high-quality mental health services.
