In partnership with Greenburgh, White Plains, Tarrytown, Elmsford, Hasting-on-Hudson, Ardsley, Irvington and Dobb Ferry Police Departments, Greater Mental Health’s Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) collaborates with police to assist individuals experiencing mental health crises. These crises may include behavioral health issues, homelessness, substance misuse and domestic violence.

Our MCRT team’s goal is to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and future law enforcement interactions by providing needed supports and addressing immediate needs of individuals in crisis. Our team of mental health professionals offers support to individuals in crisis by building rapport, providing brief interventions, assisting with stabilization, and facilitating access to appropriate services if needed.

  • Dispatch can deploy the team when officers encounter an individual requiring immediate behavioral health assessment to determine the appropriate level of care, or when subsequent follow-up services may be needed.
